The Skillery set to host Etsy Seller Boot Camp

The Skillery FeatureThe Skillery and Etsy are teaming up for Etsy Seller Boot Camp on Thursday, Dec. 4 for a daylong event designed to help local makers learn, connect and take full advantage of Etsy’s online marketplace and community. Etsy team members will spend the day in Nashville at The Skillery’s Germantown coworking and learning space, heading a mix of keynotes and breakout sessions focused on fostering a deeper understanding of online selling and accessing and leveraging Etsy’s full power and value.

Etsy Seller Boot Camp with The Skillery also includes lunch, coffee and a happy hour mixer (with drinks and snacks from local businesses including Fat Bottom Brewing and Steadfast Coffee) that will offer like-minded artists, artisans and creatives a chance to come together ahead of the busy holiday sales season, share experiences and struggles and work toward closing out 2014 fired up for bigger, broader successes.

Skillery founder Matt Dudley sees the event, and the collaboration with Etsy, as a perfect fit for the community of makers and entrepreneurs that makes up The Skillery’s member, teacher and student base.

“Working with makers and entrepreneurs since we launched The Skillery in 2011, we got a really clear sense of how powerful and valuable a tool Etsy is, for beginners and full-time entrepreneurs alike,” Dudley said.

“A lot of what we do at The Skillery — with our space, our CO.STARTERS business development program and classes — is focused on helping creative entrepreneurs strengthen and grow their business. And we felt that learning to maximize what Etsy can do could make a big difference for many makers in our community.”

And lots more“Nashville has such a strong community of makers and independent sellers, and we’re proud to have so many of them as part of the Etsy community,” says Etsy Seller Education Specialist Katie Noonan. “We’re really excited to come to Nashville to meet new and longtime sellers and help them make the most of Etsy, and make their businesses stronger.”
