12 Mar Mary Gauthier to release ‘Trouble & Love’
Noted singer-songwriter Mary Gauthier will release Trouble & Love on June 10. This will mark her first studio album in four years. Trouble & Love will feature eight songs which were pulled from over 30 that she wrote and includes “When A Woman Grows Cold and “Oh Soul” which features Darrell Scott on vocals.
During the recording process, Gauthier was in good company with a plethoras of musicians that included Viktor Krauss, Guthrie Trapp , and Beth Nielson Chapman. The album was tracked live in one room as Gauthier’s vision was to create an experience that was as real and vulnerable as the emotion in the songs themselves.
The Los Angeles Times has stated “with songwriting as powerful as hers, there’s no need to go looking for qualifiers…she’s a unique, intrinsically valuable musical voice. And there’s never a surplus of those.”
Regarding a tour, Gauthier has released details for several cities with more to be announced soon. For Tennessee, Gauthier will perform in Knoxville, Tenn. on May 10 at Historic Ramsey House and will also be in Franklin, Tenn. on June 20 at The Franklin Theatre.
